while dodderingabout the lab looking for a suitable project, i discovered a novel peptide sequence, derived from an obscure strain of bacterium - the Myexroomates anasshole. it looked something like this:

i was surprised to find that this 21 amino acid peptide was unlike anyother previously identified from the M. anasshole strains, although it had one alpha helix and an obligatory linker to the adjacent parallel beta sheet. its sequence is Trp-His-Ala-Thr-Thr-His-Glu-His-Glu-Cys-Lys-Ile-Ser-Thr-His-Ile-Ser-Cys-Arg-Ala-Pro.

or in the single letter abbreviation as used for amino acids: WHAT-THE-HECK-IS-THIS-CRAP.

A little help with the homolgy search anyone?
